Volt presents a seminar at Litteraturhuset in Bergen with Pascal Gielen, Nina Möntmann and Rudi Laermans.

Pascal Gielen is full professor of sociology of art and politics at the Antwerp Research Institute for the Arts where he leads the Culture Commons Quest Office, and he is research professor at Groningen University. Gielen is also editor in-chief of the international book series Arts in Society.

Nina Möntmann is professor of art theory and the history of ideas at Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm. She is an art historian, curator and writer. One focal point of her research is the changing role of art institutions in response to global (economic) changes, a context in which she has focused on institutional critique, new institutionalism, network cultures, critical management and curatorial practice.

Rudi Laermans is Professor of Social Theory at the University of Leuven and a regular guest teacher at P.A.R.T.S., the Brussels-based international school for contemporary dance. His current research interests are situated within the domains of the history of sociology, social theory, and the sociology of the arts. Within these domains, he is predominantly interested in new conceptualisations of ‘the social’ and ‘the political’, the subject notion and the theme of agency, and the concept of culture. His latest book is “Moving Together: Making and Theorizing Contemporary Dance” (Valiz, 2015)
