Kari Hjertholm: “taktil tekstil”
Kari Hjertholm viser tekstile arbeider, noen i større formater. Et talløst antall tynne tråder står som en delvis transparent hinne over et bunnmateriale og fargene påvirker hverandre. Materialet formes. Trådene fanger lyset, og når man beveger seg rundt i rommet gir lysets spill en stille forandring og fanger interessen. Hjertholm har en sterk interesse for arkitektur og ønsker at arbeidene skal være i dialog med utstillingsrommets arkitektur.

Kari Hjertholm:
“tactile textile”
Numerous thin threads make a transparent surface blending with a differently coloured background. The material is shaped and processed so that the appearance changes as the spectator moves in the room. The light is a key player across the tactile surface. Hjertholm has a keen interest in architecture, and she relates to the exhibition-room actively.
Quietness and calm are keynotes to much of Hjertholm´s work; monumentality at a distance and another kind of detailed experience up close.
