Den 12. mars stod plutselig tiden stille.
Norge stengte ned, og vi fikk alle mye tid for oss selv.
Vi hadde knapt bestemt navn på vårt nye prosjekt: Gyldenpris Kunsthall.
Over hele Norge, og i store deler av verden, stengte visningssteder og konsertscener ned – på dagen – 12. mars 2020.
Kunstnere ble utfordret til å arbeide i isolasjon.
Vi ønsket å tilby en gruppe kunstnere en sikker plass å arbeide, og skape.
Dette er blitt til utstillingskonseptet 1 : 1, tilpasset de nye strenge reglene til sosial avstand.
Hver kunstner har fått en uke. I den uken blir den kunstneriske prosessen dokumentert – og publikum kan følge med på arbeidet hjemmefra, på www.gyldenpriskunsthall.no
Hva resultatet blir – om det blir et ferdig kunstverk – eller kun en prosess – er opp til hver enkelt kunstner.
Tirsdag 16. juni kl. 18:00 kan alle som ønsker komme å se hva resultatet blir.

Time for reflection, time on your own—suddenly you had plenty of it. We had some spare room for it to be contained:
The day Norway was shut down due to Covid-19, we had just come up with a name for our new space: Gyldenpris Kunsthall.
We have taken up social distancing as a challenge, to provide an alternative exhibition concept:
Across Norway, many artist studios were closed down with immediate effect March 12th 2020. Artists were challenged to work in isolation, from home.
We wanted to provide an opportunity for a group of artist to be given a safe space with freedom to create, despite restrictions.
Each artist is given a one-week slot. During their assigned week, the process will be visible online for the audience to follow from home, 1:1.
Whether the outcome is source material extracted from the space, artworks inserted into it, or just an internal process, is up to the artist.
We have asked you — the audience — to follow an artistic process from home. June 16th we open Gyldenpris Kunsthall with optimism for a new future.
Being gradually acquainted to artists, the artistic processes and the space from your own confided place on screen, at home, you may see the art and it’s surroundings coloured by expectations and associations, created in your own mind.
