Ida Wieth – Wander / Wonder

Entrée presents a solo exhibition with Ida Wieth following her artist- in-residency period at S12 glass workshop where Wieth produces new site-specific works in relation to Bergen and the gallery space.

Ida Wieth is based in Aarhus, Denmark, and is a visual artist working conceptually and sculpturally in materials such as glass, iron and wood. She addresses the unusual characteristics of glass through a persistent and experimental exploration of its substance, content, form, force, and will. She combines the artistically poetic with the artisan’s tangible knowledge of materials and techniques in a highly expressive and emotional way. She studied glass blowing at the Kosta Glass School in Sweden and Edinburgh College of Art. Her works have been shown in Scandinavia, Europe, Russia, Japan, USA and Canada, and she was awarded the prestigious Hempel Glass Prize in 2017.
