Slotterøy forholder seg til den stramme formen til blåst glass, og kontrasterer dette opp mot det intuitive, slumpmessige og tilfeldige i glassets egen materialitet. I møtet mellom disse ulike kvalitetene – det planlagte og det umiddelbare – dannes et handlingsrom og potensiale Slotterøy ønsker å utnytte i produksjonen av sine verk. Tematisk kretser utstillingen omkring ’vann’ gjennom dets manifestasjon og tolkning i glass, samt problematiseringer av vannet som ressurs og årsak til konflikter.
Slotterøy relates to the fixed and definite form of blown glass, and contrasts this with the intuitive, the random, and the accidental in glass’ own materiality. In the encounter between these different qualities – the planned and the immediate – a latitude and potential are created which Slotterøy wishes to exploit in the production of his work. Thematically, the exhibition revolves around ‘water’, its manifestation and interpretation in glass, and its problematization as a resource and cause of conflict.
