Lydverket “A Financial Story” er satt sammen av feltopptak og matematiske funksjoner; et verk konstruert gjennom å utnytte Kunsthall 3,14s symbolikk som tidligere bank og aspektet av stedsspesifikke støydiagrammer. Verket forteller en økonomisk historie med åpningstider, grafer på kurver og lange netter med stillhet.
Arthur Hureau er en komponist og lyddesigner med base i Bergen. Han har spilt med det franske ensemblet DIME og har presentert egne og kollektive prosjekter i Europa og USA. Hans nylige arbeider fokuserer på lyd som en representasjon av responderende systemer som igjen påvirker ulike miljøer.
PARABOL – I samarbeid med Kunsthall 3,14 velger Lydgalleriet et lydarbeid som medieres gjennom den parabolske høyttaleren plassert i galleriets inngangsparti. Med et spesielt fokus på kontekst og redigeringer, tilbyr høyttalerens beliggenhet en atmosfære og modus som adresserer de samtidige utstillingene i salene oppe på Kunsthall 3,14.

This piece is a mix of field-recording and mathematical functions, exploiting the symbolism of Kunsthall 3,14 as a former bank and the concrete aspect of in-situ noise-prints. It tells a financial story with opening hours, graphs on curves and long nights of silence. Arthur Hureau recent works focuses on sound as a representation of infinite action-reaction systems impacting environments. He operates within a cross-disciplinary artistic field merging his contemporary music practice with a scientific and engineering approach of sound.
Arthur Hureau is a composer and sound-designer based in Bergen. He has been a performer and free improviser in the French ensemble DIME and has shown personal and collective projects in Europe and USA.
PARABOL – In collaboration with Kunsthall 3,14, Lydgalleriet selects a sound work that is featured through their parabolic loudspeaker sited in the gallery’s entrance hall. With a particular focus on special commissions and edits, the loudspeaker’s adjacent location offers an ambience and mode of address corresponding with the simultaneous exhibition.
