KODE 4

Arbeidene hennes har blitt stilt ut flere steder internasjonalt, blant annet ved New Museum, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Museum Ludwig, Köln; The State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg; Neuer Berliner Kunstverein; Tate Modern, London; Museum of Modern Art, Warszawa; Van Abbe-museet i Eindhoven, og mange andre steder.

Admission to the workshop is free.

The workshop will consist of several parts, starting with a walk through one of the exhibitions at the KODE Art museum. It is followed by a part where the workshop participants will practice re-mediating existing artworks through their bodies, finding personal connections to them and experimenting with materializing and finding performative modes for these new connections.

The last part of the workshop will be a general theoretical introduction to Alexandra Pirici’s practice of enactment / embodiment – a form of remediating, rematerializing, re-signifying, creating or revealing new meanings for already existing artworks, cultural objects, life modes or media events, as well as imagining and speculating on new, not-yet-existing objects, events or forms.

Alexandra Pirici is an artist with a background in dance and choreography who works undisciplined across a variety of media, creating works that fuse dance, sculpture, spoken word, music and performance. Her projects often explore site-specific histories, institutional hierarchies, the presence and limits of the body and the function of gesture in art.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the New Museum, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Museum Ludwig, Cologne; the State Russian Museum, Saint Petersburg; Neuer Berliner Kunstverein; Tate Modern, London; Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw; and Van Abbe Museum, Eindhoven; as well as many other venues. She has also participated in Skulptur Projekte Münster, the Venice Biennale, Manifesta 10, and the 9th Berlin Biennale.
